Energy efficiency program Rijkswaterstaat, the NetherlandsĀ 

Goal: an energy reduction of 20% in 2020 compared to 2009

Usage and trend analyses of all the infrastructural and building assets of Rijkswaterstaat consisting of 3500 electricity power connections of building objects, public lighting and infrastructural objects like tunnels, bridges, locks, weirs and pumping stations.

Developed strategic plans and action plan for improvement areas.

Mapping of organisational barriers for a structural incorporation of energy efficiency in the working methodologies.

Set-up an alliance and a 5 focus area strategy with the private sector, knowledge centres, universities and other stakeholders to reverse the growing energy demand of tunnels.

Member of the Breeam infra core team, developing a BREEAM label for assessing infrastructure (not published)

Member of the Ministerial climate and energy core team

Developed several business cases for promising locations of renewable energy

Created sustainable criteria for building criteria templates for Rijkswaterstaat.
